Caramel and bacon popcorn
Popcorn is pretty much essential on movie night, but this recipe changes everything! Perfection just got even better!
- 1.25 l popcorn
- 250 ml brown sugar
- 75 ml corn syrup
- 125 ml butter
- 5 ml baking soda
- 5 slices Lafleur fully cooked bacon
In saucepan, melt brown sugar and corn syrup over medium heat.
When syrup and sugar come to a boil, add butter and stir until melted.
Add baking soda and stir thoroughly.
Place popcorn in bowl and pour caramel over; mix thoroughly with spatula.
Place parchment paper on cookie sheet and spread caramel popcorn on sheet. Cook in oven preheated to 375°F (190°C) for five minutes or until caramel browns slightly.
Remove from oven and set aside for approximately 10 minutes.
Separate popcorn kernels with hands and place in large service bowl.
Reheat Lafleur fully cooked bacon in microwave oven for approximately five seconds per slice and cut in small crumbs.
Sprinkle popcorn with bacon crumbs.
Mix and serve.
